The strategies that I got from this course.

-Previewing
-Predicting
-Skimming 
-Scanning
-Guessing from the text
-Paraphrasing

When I read books I use skimming and then I'll use scanning for find the main idea. When I came across the difficult word or I can't understand the passage, I'll guess before I use a dictionary.

What is content it's easy for you?
I think speed reading is easy for me because I can't understand I can use the method of speed reading when I read books or novels.
I can read faster than before and I still understand while I am reading. This content helps me to improve my reading skill so much

What is content it's hard for you?
I think "Ann landers" is hard to me because I have to give an advice. But I can't do it because I can't understand the problem in the letter and sometimes I don't know what is the problem.

How did you solve the problem?

I must practice, read a lot and pay more attention in class. After class, I must preview and prepare the next lesson.

What are you attitudes toward to the lesson?

In my opinion, I think this course is very important for students because most students don't know how to correctly reading strategies reading.
This course can help everyone, who wants to read, to improves they reading skill and perhaps they  may get writing and speaking skills as well.

Extensive Reading (Continue)
On 17 November 2015, The teacher told us about our score midterm test and gave a corrective feedback.

She gave 30 minutes for preparing for the test. It's time for testing. She gave us the test papers, explained how to do the test and let's start the test. When I got a paper I certainly did true-false test first., because it's too easier than writing test. When time is up I came out of the class and talk about the test. We had differences answers in one question.

Lesson eigh and : ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY AND EXTENSIVE READING

ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY AND EXTENSIVE READING
On 10 November 2015, The teacher gave a corrective feedback of English Today/Leaning Language. Then we started to learn  "ASEAN Economic Community"
She gave a handout and opened a video in youtube, It is about ASEAN.

Then she assigns us to do worksheet 


Then She told us to make groups, 5 persons in a group. 
She asked us "What is the impact of ASEAN to Thailand?" and " How do you address such the impact?"
We tried to find information about the impact of ASEAN. Then we try to summarize.
After we had to present our summarize front of the class. The teacher started to teach about Extensive Reading.


She told us to write about "Research on English-language Reading" on the board. Then she assigns worksheet and next week she'll give a corrective feedback and take the exam.

English Today/Leaning Language
On 3 November 2015, I started to learn about Read Faster! It has two topics.
The first topic is Obstacles to faster effective reading.
The second topic is Hints for reading practice.
First of all she asked us " What's your obstacles to faster effective reading?"

My obstacles to faster effective reading.
-Complex sentences
-Translate every word.
-Lost concentration
-Read repeatedly
-Lack of confident
-Technical terms
-Grammar
-Stop to find the meaning.

Hints for speed reading practice
-Try not to let your eyes regress.
-Do not vocalize.
-Read words in groups.
-Practice speed reading on material that is not too difficult.
 Then she assigns us to do this worksheet and She'll give a corrective feedback next week.

Classic Ann Landers, Descriptions of Books and Novels (Continue)
On 27 October 2015, We had a mid-term test about 1 hour. Then my teacher asked us about homework. We didn't finish the  homework because I can't understand the story in each letter. My teacher is very angry, but she told us had done homework 15 minutes. After that, she told us had made groups and each group had 5 people. we discussed  answered in our worksheet. After that, the one in other group write the best of answered on the whiteboard.


On handout has 4 letters to Ann Landers. 
The first  letter is about she worry about her worker
The second letter is about his wife has got cancer and everybody say to her " get well soon" He didn't want to hear that because his wife will not get well.
The third  letter is about a new wife of her ex-husband is constantly overstepping her bounds with her children.
The fourth letter is about she annoy her friends and relatived.

On 20 October 2015, I started to learn unit 6. First of all, I learnt about "Descriptions of Books and Novels".

Books and Novels-including with the title, author. description, publisher, year ,number of page and cost of book etc.
She told student skimming read worksheet and discuss with my friends.I have already finished the exercise in this worksheet. 
Then the teacher explained about Ann landers. Ann Landers was a pen name created by Chicago Sun-Times advice columnist Ruth Crowley in 1943 and taken over byEsther Pauline "Eppie" Lederer in 1955. 
The Ask Ann Landers syndicated advice column was a regular feature in many newspapers across North America.

 We didn't start the first letter because time up. The teacher assigns us to do next letter and next week she is going to give  a corrective feedback.

On 20 October 2015, The teacher gave a corrective feedback.

Then I read the passage "Expat in Asia" is about interview with an American English professor (Michael) teaching in Taiwan.

The question in Interview.
-Why did you choose to come to Taiwan initially?
-Why have you decided to stay long term? What are some things you like about living in Taiwan?
-What is till difficult for you in Taiwan?
-What do you perceive as Taiwan's strengths and weaknesses?
-What differences do you see between Taiwanese culture and American culture?

When I found the difficult words, phrases and main idea or I had problems, I tried to guess words meaning, so if I can't guess I 'll find the meaning in the dictionary online.

My teacher opened a powerpoint then she asked us to guess the picture is about.

Then we learnt  " The "Asianization"  of the United States" This passage is about integration of Asian-American cultural such as
Levi's uses karaoke to sell jeans.



Mountian Dew commercial does a parody of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.


When I read this passage. I used skimming, scanning, finding the main idea. it's very hard to understand when I came across the difficult word.
I tried to guess. But I can't guess. So, I had to find the meaning in a dictionary. Then the teacher assigns worksheet and next week she is going to give a corrective feedback.

On 22 September 2015, Today my teacher had to a meeting. She told us to read the passage and do worksheet and Aj.Putsadee will teach instead her.
First we learnt vocabulary about hairstyle such as

we read the passage about "SLITTING HAIRS". It's about rules about student's hair in each country. We skimmed to read and captured the main idea each of paragraphs. When I found the difficult word or phrases I will guess the meaning before I fount out the meaning in a dictionary.

On 15 September 2015, We started to learn about "Fashion"



My teacher wrote "Fashion" on the board and we must write the vocabularies that associated with "Fashion" on the whiteboard. We shared the vocabularies and wrote them together.

Then she taught vocabulary about fashion such as

platform shoes

mini skirt

jeans

fishnet stockings

make up

high heels

Then We  read the text about " Fusion? Confusion" This text is about "Yumiko" she is Japanese and studied in America. She had two bad experiences and the problem about her clothes. We skimmed to read and captured the main idea each of paragraphs. When I found the difficult word or phrases I will guess the meaning before I fount out  the meaning in a dictionary and after that  we learnt vocabulary such as dress up, have on, get dress, wear, change and put on.

Today technology (Continue)
On 8 September. we had a test about Healthy diet before we continued the lesson about "Today technology".
My teacher assigned we to make 6 groups and each group has 8-9 person.

Then we lucky draw of each topic.

Each group had to summarize each topic that they got. And after that each person in a group had to switch to other groups.
Each group had to have each topic in one group. We must explain about the topic that each person have to another person in the group.
